Shirley M. DeBow Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley M. DeBow in South Bend, Indiana, who passed away on May 11, 2026, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Oscar and Grace Gaines (Sutherland); her siblings, Evelyn Gaines, Carolyn Kitts, Violet Ray and Richard Gaines; and her granddaughter Hallie DeBow.
She is survived by: her daughters, Kimberley Mendez (Javier) of Plymouth and Dawn DeBow of Plymouth; her granddaughter JoAnna Fritz (Bryer) of Royal Center; and her siblings, Loretta Keehn of Koontz Lake, Roger Gaines (Denise) of Plymouth, Joseph Gaines of Plymouth, Brenda Carter of Plymouth, Elizabeth Ward of Plymouth and Barbara Dickson of Elkhart. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 22nd 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home (1100 N Michigan St, Plymouth, IN 46563). A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 22nd 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, May 22nd 2026 at 2:15 PM at the Oak Hill Cemetery (1300 Chester St, Plymouth, IN 46563).
