As we bid Susan farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Susan is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Gustave Schaut and Dorothy Schaut (Barzo); her husband Louie; and her brother James Schaut. She is survived by: her son Russell Taylor (Blanca); and her brother Steve Schaut (Becky). She is also survived by many other family members and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Saint Joseph Funeral Home (824 S Mayflower Dr, South Bend, IN 46619). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. An entombment was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the St. Joseph Cemetery (24980 IN-2, South Bend, IN 46619).
