He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Slack and Ruth Slack (Wilkerson); and his half-brother Glenn Pierce. He is survived by: his wife Connie; his sons, John Slack (Kay) of Delta, PA and Kevin Slack (Ruth) of Hillsdale, MI.; his grandchildren, Deborah, Devin, Jude, Jackson, Mara, Edith and Jerome; and his siblings, Nancy Bell (Sam) of Peck, KS and Charlie Slack (Bonnie) of Wichita, KS..

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Vernon's name may be made to Alzheimer's & Dementia Services of Northern Indiana, 111 Sunnybrook Ct., South Bend, IN 46637.
