He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph A. McCoy Sr. and Mildred V. McCoy (Atkinson); his former wife Susan McCoy (Wilson); and his sister Bonnie Matthews. He is survived by: his wife Diana Stivers-McCoy; his children, Greg McCoy (Jill Beagle) and Mindi Schneider (Steven); his stepchildren, Allen Stivers (Kathy) and Tammy Lowe (Scot); and his siblings, Charles McCoy, Robert McCoy and Arlene Beall. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
