Nellie J. Haynie Obituary
We bid farewell to Nellie J. Haynie of Spencerville, Indiana, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on August 19, 2025 at the age of 99. Nellie touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Walter and Margaret Mary Helen Poynor (Turner); her husband LeRoy Smith Haynie; her daughter Emma Giffin (Paul); and her siblings, Margaret H. Smith, Annabelle Frank, Fannie Bunting, Blanche E. Thomas, Mae R. Castle, Thomas W. Poynor, Jr. and James L. Poynor.
She is survived by: her children, Fannie Brown (Bret) of Spencerville, Mary Lou Haynie of Spencerville, Maggie Campbell (Mendall) of Harlan, Lori Schippers of Butler, Cindy Miller (Greg) of Antwerp, OH, Tom Haynie (Julie) of Bluffton, Rick Haynie (Donna) of Elsie, MI, Keith Haynie and Tim Haynie of Creston, Iowa. She is also survived by 27 grandchildren; 67 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, August 21st 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Harlan Memorial Cemetery (11450 Roberts Rd, Harlan, IN 46743). Visitation was held on Friday, August 22nd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Countryside Church of Christ (14314 Hurshtown Rd, Grabill, IN 46741). A memorial service was held on Friday, August 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
