He was predeceased by: his parents, George Miers and Geneva Miers (Hughes); his wife Ruth Ann; and his siblings, Judy Crabtree, Becky Owens and Eugene Miers.

He is survived by: his son Scott Miers (Alison Himes); his granddaughters, Jillian Durrance (Sean) and Chloe Miers (Joe Goldman); and his siblings, Ester Shelley, Phil Miers (Donna) and Paul Miers (Martin Wright). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions in David's name may be made to Henry County Humane Society 11 Midway Drive New Castle, IN 47362.
