Joyce Ellen Murphy Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joyce Ellen Murphy of Springport, Indiana, who passed away on May 24, 2026 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Newell Glen and Lelia Lee (Wilson); her husband Howard "Hab" Murphy; her son Leonard Howard Murphy Jr.; her siblings, Glen Lee, Bill Lee, Dave Lee, Eugene Lee, Harold Lee, Doris Faye Lee, Iva Branscum, Mary Granada and Virginia Weaver; and her son-in-law Mike Wilson.
She is survived by: her children, Kim Wilson of Albany, KY, Kay Collins (Mark) of Muncie, Audie Murphy of Springport and Alan Murphy (Tina) of Greencastle; her grandchildren, Amanda Waters (Brent), Matt Collins (Katie) and Sierra Armour (Brantley); her great grandchildren, Amber, Kayleah, Dawson, Luke, Lizzie and Lincoln; and her siblings, Inus Perry (Avery), Rebecca Abbott (Rudy) and Marshall Lee (Susanne). She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 27th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service (3406 S Memorial Dr, New Castle, IN 47362). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 28th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Westside United Baptist Church 3021 W. Cornbread Rd. Muncie, IN 47302.
