He was predeceased by: his parents-in-law, Roger Patton and Sue Patton; and his brother-in-law Dwight Patton. He is survived by: his mother Jerry Saunders (John Lester); his wife Sharon Saunders; his daughter Jeri Spires (Jesse); his sister Gina Seitzinger (Brad); his grandchildren, Kayne and Hayden Spires; his brothers-in-law, Kevin Patton (Shannon) and Kenny Patton (Dawn); and his nieces and nephews, Scotty Roberts, Danielle Daugherty, Josh Patton, Justin Patton, Tiffany Patton, Brandy Weddle, Zach Patton, Britain Patton and Brogan Patton.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mitchell High School Volleyball Team and Limestone Capital Volleyball Club.
