She was predeceased by : her parents, John Esra and Della Esra; her husband Jack Thomson; her son Todd; and her siblings, Annabelle, Ruth, George, Joe and Jim.

She is survived by : her children, David (Carla) and Sue Ann (Rod); her grandchildren, Shane (Carrie), Brooke (Danny), Lindsay (Chris), Tara, Rachel (Joel), Sarah (Tyler) and Josh (Bellami); and her siblings-in-law, Thomas and Shirley Thomson. She is also survived by nine great grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.

“We send love and consolation to our dear sister-in-law's children David and Sue Ann, and their deceased brother Todd. Betty was thoughtful, kind, smart, indomitable, and my beloved sister-in-law. People who knew her will not forget her. Happily, our Betty enjoyed brief national note--and glamour--in the late 1980s when she was a guest on the Regis Philbin TV show in New York City. Betty had class; she was kind and loving, a beloved aunt and great-aunt to numerous Thomson children. We miss her. Tom & Shirley Thomson”
