She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard H. Kemper and Pauline Pressley; her husband Dwight M. Gates; and her daughters, Beth Ann Schultheis and Susan R. Gates.
She is survived by: her children, Pete Rock Schultheis of Sullivan, IN, Dawn M. Turk and Kathy L. Long of Indianapolis, IN; her stepdaughter Pamela Doran of St. Petersburg; her sister Patricia A. Wetzel of Pigeon Forge, TN; Marilyn J. Giles of Bedford, Texas.. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren 5 step grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 6th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Brust Funeral Home (400 N Court St, Sullivan, IN 47882). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
