He was predeceased by : his parents, George Gates and Ruby Gates (Murnan); and his son Samuel Johnson. He is survived by : his wife Sharon Gates (Bright); and his daughters, Cindy Alexander of Cedar Key and Peggy Helms of Anderson. He is also survived by 4 Grandchildren, 7 Great-Grandchildren.
