Edmund J. Eckstein Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edmund J. Eckstein of Sunman, Indiana, who passed away on May 22, 2026, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Amand Eckstein and Mary Eckstein (Federle); his wife Thelma Theobald of Mary's Catholic Church; his siblings, Cornelius Eckstein, Albert Eckstein, Alice Wuestefeld and Stella Doerflein; and his sisters-in-law, Mildred Cutter and Ruth Siefert.
He is survived by: his children, Nancy Denni (Bruce), Daniel Eckstein (Karen) and Janie Anderson (Rick); his grandchildren, Kristin Denni (Ben Dorrel), Sara Davidson (Matt Reynolds), Amber Scholl, Michael Eckstein (Chelsea) and Jenna Anderson; his siblings, Frank Eckstein, Walter Eckstein, Verena Fette and Matilda Nordmeyer; Jeremy Pea. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A rosary will be held on Friday, May 29th 2026 at 8:45 AM at the Meyers Funeral Home (1150 IN-46, Batesville, IN 47006). Visitation will be held on Friday, May 29th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, May 29th 2026 at 11:30 AM at the St. Nicholas Catholic Church (6461 E St Nicholas Dr, Sunman, IN 47041).
Memorials in honor of Ed may be made to St. Nicholas Catholic Church or School and brought to the services or mailed to Meyers Funeral Home, P.O. Box 202, Batesville, IN 47006.
