He was predeceased by: his parents, Rose Middendorf and William Middendorf; his brothers, William Middendorf (Audrey) and Michael Middendorf (Connie); and his son-in-law Eric Merkt.
He is survived by: his wife Betty; his children, John Middendorf Jr. (Tina), Jennifer Merkt, Jeffrey Middendorf (Mary Lou), Jeanette Rennekamp (James Sr.) and Julie Raver (Joseph); his grandchildren, Raymond Merkt, Elizabeth Rennekamp-Dowers, Jessica Raver, Jimmy Rennekamp, Andrew Rennekamp, John Henry Raver and Jed Raver; his great grandchild Levi Dowers; his stepgrandchildren, Frank, Ethan, Charlie, Jake Monroe, Aric and Ronnie Enochs; and his brothers, Richard Middendorf (Norma) and James Middendorf (late Delores).
A rosary will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 8:45 AM to 9:00 AM at the Andres-Wuestefeld Funeral Home (25615 IN-1, Guilford, IN 47022). Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the St. Martin's Catholic Cemetery (8044 Yorkridge Rd, Guilford, IN 47022). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at the Andres-Wuestefeld Funeral Home (25615 IN-1, Guilford, IN 47022).
