He was predeceased by: his parents, Harlan Beer and Phyllis Beer (Blosser); his wife Kathy Wolferman; and his daughter-in-law Laurie Beer. He is survived by: his sons, Matthew Beer (Alyssa) of Syracuse and Kevin Beer of Milford; his granddaughters, Meghan Barker (Josh), Nicole Romans (Patton), Ella, Lily and Molly Beer; and his siblings, Tracy Beer (Dee Ann) of Syracuse, Barney Beer (Natalie) of Goshen and Tyrann Beer of Nappanee.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Rod's name can be given to the Milford Library.
