He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Owen and Mildred Matheny Coon; and his sister Janice Wheatley. He is survived by: his children, Crystal Bittel (Eric) and Michael Coon (Mindy); his siblings, Annie Powers, Bonnie Harrison, Angie Miller and Michael O. Coon; and his close friend Victoria Reed. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Gibson & Son Funeral Home (275 Court Square, Hawesville, KY 42348). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 at the Gibson & Son Funeral Home, Hawesville Chapel (275 Court Square, Hawesville, KY 42348).
