He was predeceased by: his parents, Archie Curtis and Adella Lucille "Lucy" Curtis of Tennyson, Indiana.; his brothers, Archie, Chester, Jerry, John, Joe and Tony; and his son William Archie "Bub".

He is survived by: his children, Alvin, Jr. Curtis (Patty), Brenda Oberst (James), Alvina Shoemaker (James), Tamara Reed (Edward), Adam Moss and Jerry Curtis (Christina Ruybal); and his siblings, Ray Curtis, Bert Curtis, Ruby Wilkinson, Edna Coleman (Gary), Doris Bruce and Shirley Chappell. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
