He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Lee Whitesell and Ernestine Ault Whitesell; his brother Douglas Whitesell; his in-laws, Lawrence and Betty King; and his son-in-law John "Jay" Massey.
He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Whitesell; his brother Danny Whitesell; his children, David Lee Whitesell (Angela) and Beth Massey (Brent); his grandchildren, Chelsea Lentes (Thomas), Dillon Massey (Tiffany), Mitchell Massey, Ellie Massey and Brent David Whitesell; and his great grandchildren, Emma Catherine Lentes and Thomas David Lentes.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 9:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 10:00 PM at the DeBaun Funeral Homes & Crematory (85 E Springhill Dr, Terre Haute, IN 47802).
In lieu of flowers, donation of remembrance may be made to the American Legion Riley Post 328, Marine Corps League Toys for Tots, or the Lighthouse Mission.
