He was predeceased by : his parents, Edgar L. Cole Sr. and Emma M. Cole (Taylor); his wife Shirley M. Cole; his sons, Edgar L. Cole III and David L. Cole; and his siblings, Emmett Cole, Evelyn Cole and Carol Lynn Cole.

He is survived by : his son Kenneth Cole; and his sister-in-law Vicki Cole (Johnny Johnson). He is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
