He is survived by: his wife Sue Thomas; his children, Fred W. Thomas, III, Ambra Waggoner and Tiffany Thomas; and his siblings, George Thomas (Delitha), Donald Thomas and Jennifer Gallegos (Ben). He is also survived by eight grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bible Baptist Church of Terre Haute.
