He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Charles Scott Hayward and Bessie Mae Hayward (Young); his wife Ruth Nelle Hayward (Carnes); and his daughters, Mary Bess Hayward, Dorothy Savage, Margaret "Peggy" Kelm, Patricia Kleptz, Charlette Bell and Ruth A. Wade. He was also cherished by 12 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.
