He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert E McLaughlin and Mable Lanham McLaughlin. He is survived by: his sister-in-law Marion McLaughlin of Eugene, Oregon.; his family Mary; his children, Scott (Jan Phillips), Greg (Sharon Araldi) and Dr. Anne McLaughlin (Matt Lothamer); his grandchildren, Connor McLaughlin, Bailie McLaughlin (Chip Richard), Shawn McLaughlin, Emily Lothamer, Joey Lothamer and A. J. Lothamer; and his great grandchild Easton McLaughlinFuneral.

Visitation was held on Monday, July 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Central Presbyterian Church (125 N 7th St, Terre Haute, IN 47807).
