With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Roger Francis Jacobs of Terre Haute, Indiana, born in Detroit, Michigan, who passed away on April 17, 2024 at the age of 87. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Roger Francis Jacobs to pay them a last tribute.

He was predeceased by : his parents, Melvin Jacobs and Florence Jacobs; and his brothers, Daniel Jacobs (Lynn) and Melvin Jacobs, Jr. (Sue). He is survived by : his wife Alice Jacobs; his children, Stephen Jacobs of Terre Haute, IN, Magdalene Snyder (Tony) of Round Rock, TX and Sarah Wurtz (Jim) of Terre Haute, IN; and his siblings, Myrna Kabalka (Walt), Janet Jacobs, Kathleen Cerda, Raymond Jacobs and Merritt Jacobs (Joan). He is also survived by many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home (605 S 25th St, Terre Haute, IN 47803). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, May 4th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church (1807 Poplar St, Terre Haute, IN 47803).

He was a terrific library director, always intent on advancing the careers of those in his charge.
