He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Lorenzo Young and Virginia Young (Hughes); and his siblings, James Young, David Young and Rebecca Meadlo.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Young; his children, Stephen Young Jr. (Julie), Lisa Ames (Mark), Penelope Callaway (Jason) and Jonathan Young (Jaime); and his sisters, Helen Clouse (Bill), Vangie Stewart and Debbie Price (Steve). He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.
