He was predeceased by: his parents, Sebastian Garst and Irene Garst (Wright); his wife Susan Garst (Henderson); his siblings, Charles Garst, Keith Garst and Wuanitta Phifer; and his brothers-in-law, Wayne Phifer, Eugene Wisler and Dana Lockwood.
He is survived by: his children, Bret Garst (Kristine) and Michele Garst (Kevin); his grandchildren, Dakota Garst, Sara Mutter (Jacob), James Garst (Gretchen), David Teboe (Shelby), Cheyenne Teboe (Chris) and Shane Thomas (Olivia); his great grandchildren, Cainan Mutter, Karson Garst, Chance Garst, Hattie Garst, Ulani Swank, Prudence Swank, Rosalie Swank, Jason Teboe and Mila Thomas; his siblings, Alberta Wisler, Gerald Garst (Jan) and Margaret White (Glenn); his sister-in-law Betty Garst; and his close friends, Ronnie Delph and Buddy Trietsch. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins.
