He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilburn Young and Janie Ethel Thomasson (Robinson); his brothers, Otis "Tommy" Thomasson, Bobby Thomasson and Billy Thomasson; his grandson Steven Thomasson; and his in-laws, Maurice and Marie Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Mary K. Thomasson; his children, Debbie Baker (Jeff) of Lewisport, Tammy Duncan (Dan) of Lewisport, Stacy Thomasson of Gatchel, Shawn Goffinet of Tell City and Maurice Poehlein (Nancy) of Tobinsport; his brother Freddie Thomasson (Sara) of Richmond Hill, Georgia; and his grandchildren, Joshua Jones (April), Robin Jones (Trula), Amanda Moore (David), Alexus Knasel (Zac Collins), Amity Etienne (Asher), Kaitlyn Poehlein, Callie Poehlein and Kelsey Poehlein. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 30th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at the Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home (920 10th St, Tell City, IN 47586). A burial was held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 9:30 AM at the Millstone Cemetery. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Paul Catholic Church (824 Jefferson St, Tell City, IN 47586).
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Heart to Heart Hospice.
