Jacob D.O. Fry Obituary

We announce the death of Jacob D. O. Fry of Topeka, Indiana, who passed away on September 30, 2026, at the age of 86. Jacob will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, David Fry and Ola Fry (Bontrager); his wife Susie Bontrager; and his brothers, Harvey and David Fry.

He is survived by: his children, Samuel Fry (Laura) of New Paris, Anna Yoder of Shipshewana, Orvan Fry (Marlene) of Shipshewana and Larry Fry (Siara) of South Bend; and his siblings, Glen Fry of Topeka, Vern Fry of Topeka, Paul Fry of Topeka, Ira Fry (Alma) of Middlebury, Danny Fry, Ada Lambright of Topeka, Ida Miller (Jonas) of Topeka and Iva Yoder (Alton) of Goshen. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Orvan Fry Residence (210 E Farver St, Shipshewana, IN 46565). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at 9:30 AM at the Mervin Hochstetler Residence (11841 N. 600 W.-57, Topeka, IN 46571). A burial will be held on Saturday, October 3rd 2026 at the Hawpatch Cemetery (6500 S 700 W, Topeka, IN 46571).
