He was predeceased by: his parents, Levi D. Hershberger and Verna Hershberger (Yoder); his son-in-law Lamar Miller; his brother Daniel Hershberger; and his half-sister Elizabeth Mae Glick.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Petersheim; his children, Sarah Ann Hershberger of Topeka, Ruby Miller of Topeka and Vernon Hershberger (Esther) of Topeka; and his sisters, Katie Stutzman (Mel) of Goshen, Mary Ellen Sisson of Goshen and Ann Randall of Boone, NC.. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, November 29th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Melvin Hershberger Residence (8765 W 700 S, Topeka, IN 46571). A funeral service was held on Sunday, November 30th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, November 30th 2025 at the Hawpatch Cemetery (6500 S 700 W, Topeka, IN 46571).
