Wayne L. Retseck Obituary

Wayne L. Retseck, 77, of Trail Creek passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 14, 2026 at Franciscan Health in Michigan City.

Private family service will be held.

The Root Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Wayne was born February 12, 1949 in Michigan City to the late Louis and Adelle (Kamont) Retseck.

On March 23, 1971 in Seoul, Korea he married Kyong Han Retseck who is surviving in Trail Creek.

Also surviving is one daughter, Patricia (Scott Bell) Retseck; one son, Michael (Dina) Retseck; two grandchildren, Nicholas (Jessica) Retseck and Alexander (Ally Henrich) Bell; one great-grandson, Radley Retseck; one brother, William (Christine) Retseck and many loving extended family members and friends.

Wayne worked for twelve years at Joy Manufacturing before getting his LPN and retiring from Westville Correction Center after 30 years of service.

He was a proud Air Force Veteran and an avid Cubs Fan. He took great pride and joy in coaching football and basketball with the CYO and Queen of All Saints Grade School. He loved spending time with his family and listening to the Grateful Dead. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
