He was predeceased by: his parents, Cornelius Bierma and Effie Bierma (Tillema); and his siblings, Nick, Ed, John, Harry, Marvin Bierma and Cornelia "Sis" Longstreth.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Martin; his daughters, Sandra Carter (David) of Estero, FL and Sharon Polite (Joe) of Valparaiso, IN; his grandchildren, Samantha Nunez (Sergio), Kyle Carter (Cameron), Alisha Brown (Ryan) and Nick Polite (Laura); his great grandchildren, Sofia, Carter, Sebastian, Madalynn, MaKenna, Mabel, Monroe, Liam, Nora and Noelle; his close friends, Polly Horton-Hix and Pete Horton; and his granddaughter Sofia.
