With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Donald Francis Kuschel Sr. of Valparaiso, Indiana, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 6, 2025 at the age of 74. He was predeceased by: his parents, Neil Lewis Rogers and Frances Elizabeth Barney; his stepfather Norman Kuschel; and his siblings, Neil Patrick Rogers, Laura Garrow and Suzanne Baumeister.

He is survived by: his wife Eileen Wilhelm-Kuschel; his pet Gabi; his children, Melissa Kuschel (Terri Cutshall), Greg Kuschel and Don Kuschel (Felicia); his grandson Leo Kuschel; and his siblings, Roxanne Eaves (Dean Beatty), Nancy Dorais (Steve), Gordon Rogers (Patty), Mark Kuschel (Robin) and Shawn Rogers (Deana). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The military honors was held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home (8178 S Cline Ave, Crown Point, IN 46307).

In lieu of gifts or flowers, memorial contributions for Donald can be made to Semper Fi & America's Fund, Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, Wounded Warrior Project, USMC League Toys for Tots Drive or the charity of your choice.
