He was predeceased by: his son John C. Spencer; and his niece Beverly Malone. He is survived by: his spouse Gail Spencer (Pofahl); his stepdaughter Kelly Swart (Jason) of North Judson, IN; his sister Regina Deakin of Schererville, IN.; his grandsons, Justin Haga and Ethan Swart; his stepson Cody Pofahl; and his nieces and nephews, Deborah Brittain, Cynde Kolicius, Joseph Deakin III and Robert Alan Deakin.
