She was predeceased by : her husband John Earl Hefner; and her son Kenneth Earl Hefner. She is survived by : her children, Teri Meyer (Greg), Gary Hefner (Jody) and Caroline Busch (Doug); her daughter-in-law Sue Hefner; her grandchildren, John Hefner (Tiffany), James Hefner (May), Eric Meyer (Jessica), Scott Meyer (Melody), Carrie McMannis (Will), Cal Hefner, Courtney Hefner, Bryanna Goodall (Drew), Morgan Keck (Emmett) and Maggie Busch; and her siblings, Judy, Janice, Nancy, Virginia and Philip.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given toward VNA Hospice or Valparaiso School Foundation, 3801 Campbell Street, Valparaiso, IN 46385.
