He was predeceased by: his parents, Hobart Cavinder and Martha Cavinder (Hittle); and his brother Raymond Cavinder. He is survived by: his wife Darlene Cavinder (Moore); his sons, Timothy Cavinder (Pam), Danny Cavinder (Jennifer), Douglas Egolf (Nancy), Michael Cavinder (Laurie), Scott Cavinder (Beth) and David Cavinder (Evelyn); his sister Carol Jean Bryant; his grandchildren, Wesley, Eian, Elias of Danny, JR., Noah, Trevor (Anna), Kasey, Riley (Mackenzie), Jessica, Triston (Lana), Damon and Dustin; and his great grandchildren, Henry and Tori.

Viewing was held on Thursday, September 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Graceland Cemetery (1505 E Morthland Dr, Valparaiso, IN 46383). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, September 18th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
