It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sandra Kay Schmaltz of Valparaiso, Indiana, born in Joplin, Missouri, who passed away on January 2, 2024, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Urban Johannes, and Kathryne Johannes, Sr. (Marich); her husband Richard E. Schmaltz; and her siblings, Terry Murray and Urban Johannes, Jr..

She is survived by : her daughters, Lori Epler (David) of Valparaiso and Natalie Hargrove (Joseph) of Hobart; and her grandchildren, Colin, Claire and Courtney Epler.
