It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sonja Richter of Valparaiso, Indiana, who passed away on June 18, 2025, at the age of 62, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Sonja departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Sonja. Though Sonja may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Geisen Funeral, Cremation & Reception Centre (606 E 113th Ave, Crown Point, IN 46307). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Sonja's name to Porter County Animal Shelter.
