He was predeceased by: his parents, William G. Prete and Virginia B. Prete; and his brother Ronald Prete Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Sue Prete; his children, April Prete and Michael Prete; his grandson Jackson Prete; and his sisters, Gayle Prete Miller and Virginia Tackas.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in William's name to Alzheimer's Association.
