He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Covington and Eva B. Covington (McClellan); his son Harold E. "Joe" Covington; his daughter-in-law Barbara Jane "Barb" Covington (Whitham); his siblings, Wilma "Mickey" Gridley, Thelma Gutman, Geneva Gutman and Paul Edwin Covington, Sr.; his parents-in-law, Churchill Scudder and Velma Scudder-Smith (Peelman); and his grandson-in-law Kenneth Wayne "Sam" Copeland, Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Pansy Lou Covington (Scudder); his sons, Brian Covington (Carol) and Mark Covington (Rosie) of Florence, IN; his grandchildren, Brandon Covington (Casey), Asia Young (James), AJ Covington, Ashlyn Covington, MacKenzie Covington Beck (Matt), Mason Covington (Hannah), Myles Covington (Audrey), Amy Copeland and J. D. Mathews (Melissa); his great grandchildren, Weslea Covington, Landree Covington, Abram Young, Evie Young, Atlas Joe Covington, Cierra Copeland, Lauren Guerrant (Cole), Morgan Mathews, Holden Mathews, Ayden Stewart, Aubree Robinson and Raelynn Robinson; and his sisters-in-law, Daisy Swanson of Bennington, IN and Doris Chase of Florence, IN. He is also survived by his several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home (208 Ferry St, Vevay, IN 47043). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to the East Enterprise Volunteer Fire Department.
