He was predeceased by: his parents, William E. Lory and Edith Bernice Ray Lory; his wife Charlene Whaley; and his brother Louis "Bud" Thomas. He is survived by: his son David "DJ" Lory Jr. of Vincennes; and his siblings, Donnie Bilskie (Margery), Robert Crock (Lilly) and Leona Browning. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial contributions can be made in his memory to the Indiana Military Museum.
