He is survived by: his children, Kimberly Downen of Monroe City, IN and James C. Kerns, Jr. (Joyce) of Vincennes, IN; his grandchildren, Jeremy Hollis (Ashley), J. D. Hollis, Cody Akers, Kristen Jones (Alex), Racheal Kerns, Xavier Burns and Jacob Kerns; and his great grandchildren, Jillian, Paxton Hollis and Brynn Jones.
