It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janet V. Hess (Vincennes, Indiana), who passed away on February 4, 2026, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Janet V. Hess to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Ruppel and Bernice Ruppel (Horsting); her son Bradley Hess; and her siblings, Paul Ruppel, Margaret Halter and Betty Hesher.
She is survived by: her husband Robert F. Hess of Vincennes; her children, Glenn Hess (Betsy) of Fishers, IN, Brenda Steckler (Brad) of Indianapolis, IN, Connie Fegan (Roland) of Indianapolis, IN and Jeff Hess (Amy) of Noblesville, IN; and her sisters, Rita Doll (Charlie) of Vincennes, Virginia Donaldson (Steve) of Vincennes and Linda Ruppel of Vincennes. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 13th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Old Cathedral Catholic Church (205 Church St, Vincennes, IN 47591). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, February 13th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis Xavier Church for memorial masses or the Old Cathedral Church Building Fund.
