With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Martha Jane Thompson of Vincennes, Indiana, born in Evansville, Indiana, who passed away on March 21, 2022 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Marcellus Knapp and Catherine Knapp (Krack); her husband James H. Thompson; her stepmother Margaret Knapp (Dalp); her siblings, Stanley, Marcellus, Francis Knapp and Doris Graham; and her stepbrothers, Robert "Bob" Whitehouse and Jack Whitehouse.
She is survived by: her children, Dorothy J. Fish (John) of Vincennes, Rosalind J. Shade of Vincennes and Tracy L. Gross (David) of Vincennes; her grandchildren, James W. Shade (Jaimie Tate), Jason Fish (Courtney), Christopher Fish (Nicole), Ashley Tolliver (Travis), William Gosnell-Burton (Darin Burton) and Kathleen Johnson (Benjamin); and her brother William Knapp (Mary). She is also survived by nine great grandchildren.
Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to Knox County Humane Society, Good Samaritan Hospice or Vincennes Pet Port.
