He was predeceased by: his parents, Farrell Lane and Clara Lane (Halter); and his siblings, John, Wayne and Judy Roche.

He is survived by: his former wife Dorothy Anne Catt (Dottie); his wife Dottie Lane of Vincennes; his sons, Eric (Linda), Ethan (Kim), Marc (Lisa) and Jason (Amy); his grandchildren, Adam Lane (Leah), Mallory Lane, Dr. Audra Parrett (Chad), Carrie Lane, Sydney Helton (Jonathan), Sophia Lane, Austin Lane, Elizabeth Lane, Isaac Lane, Catherine Lane and Amelia Lane; his great grandchild Erin Lane; his sisters-in-law, Patricia Lane (John) and Kathy Lane (Wayne); his sisters, Martha Ann Davis (David), Shyla Ford, Millie Greentree, Betty Murry and Erma Barmes; his brothers-in-law, David Roche and David Davis; and his friend Marvis'.

The Lane family has requested contributions be made to Good Samaritan Hospice or the donor's choice of a local church or charity.
