He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Horton and Helen Horton (Elliott); his brother Ralph Phillip Horton; and his nephew Gary Horton. He is survived by: his wife Docia Frey; his children, Belinda Smith (Larry) of Danville, Ill. and Blane Horton (Lea) of Jackson, Miss.; his stepdaughters, Lisa Frey (Chris Dalton) and Laura Michael (Dod); his grandson Andrew Smith (Taffie); his stepdaughters, Lauren McCool (John), Amber Marcum, Abby Horton and Destiny Harris (Quincy); and his great grandchildren, Vivian, Matilda, John, Cohan, Adaline and Lea'oni. He is also survived by nephew and two great-nephews.
