We are sad to announce that on June 27, 2023, at the age of 76, Roberta Kay Abel (Vincennes, Indiana) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by : her parents, Robert Barksdale and Helen Barksdale (Nitchman); her former life partner Roy Sheren; her husband James Abel; and her son Jeff Abel.
She is survived by : her children, Mike Sheren (Sherry), BJ Helderman and Shannon Abel (Chrissy); her daughter-in-law Judy Abel; her grandchildren, Brittany Shreve, Rhett, Lucy, Kolby Sheren, Sierra, Kaitlyn Helderman, Myles, Mallory Litherland, Hailey and Emilie Abel; and her great grandchildren, Callie Wheeler, Tayler Abel, James and Nathaniel Shreve. She is also survived by her parents & later with her boyfriend.
Birdie's family has requested memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
