He was predeceased by: his wife Margie "Craig" Schleicher; his parents, Eberhard Winkler and Edith Marie "Wiedemann" Schleicher Winkler; his son Mark Schleicher; and his daughter-in-law Deidra Schleicher.

He is survived by: his son Chris Schleicher of Vincennes; his daughter-in-law Cindy Schleicher; his grandchildren, Adam Schleicher of Nashville, TN, Erik Schleicher (Jess Briner) of Vincennes, IN, Curt Parker (Crystal) of Yorktown, VA and Chelsea Schleicher of Evansville, IN.; his girlfriend Annette Bell (family: Brick Bell, Shannon Bowen, Kelly Bell) of Vincennes, IN; and his siblings, Norbert Winkler of Indianapolis, IN, Harry Winkler of Petersburg, VA, Siglinde Moore of Minneapolis, MN and Sigrun Roberts of Indianapolis, IN.
