He was predeceased by: his parents, George Cooper and Mary Alice Cooper (Keaffaber); his daughter Kathie Sue Cooper; and his brother George Lloyd Cooper. He is survived by: his wife Carol Sue Cooper; his son Scott Alan Cooper of Lagro; his sister Alice Loreen Longfellow of Wabash; and his pet Bandit.

Visitation was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Manchester Avenue Chapel (1241 Manchester Ave, Wabash, IN 46992). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service (1241 Manchester Ave, Wabash, IN 46992).
