He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Hughes and Mary Jane Merrell (Tomson). He is survived by: his wife Martha Merrell of Wabash; his sons, Mike Merrell (Paula Bailey) of Wabash and Brian Merrell (Mary) of Roann; and his grandchildren, David Merrell, Brandon Merrell (Jackie Foust), Zachary Merrell (Paige), Nicole Parson (Trent), Andrew Bailey (Adrien Adkins), Andrea Merrell, Hali Horon (Alex Barr), Sean Merrell, Keith Merrell, Austin Merrell (Alexis Hyden) and Emit Merrell. He is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 22nd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service (1241 Manchester Ave, Wabash, IN 46992). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 22nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
