He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Garrett and Mildred Garrett (Culver); his daughter Debra K. Shepherd; his grandchildren, Faith Garrett, Joshua Garrett and Jasmine Garrett; and his siblings, Jim, John, Raymond Garrett, Martha Tyler and Mary Haines.
He is survived by: his wife Alane Garrett of Lagro; his children, Robert Allen Garrett of Wabash, Beverly Garrett of Peru and Erica Vance of Fort Wayne; and his siblings, Larry Garrett of Wabash, Shirley Morgan of Wabash, Evelyn Turner of Wabash and Dianne Fife of Wabash. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, several great-grandchildren.
