He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Hidy and Esther Hidy (Hendrickson); his wife Dorothy Thom-Hoyt; and his brother-in-law Blanchard Banks. He is survived by: his siblings, Scott Hidy of Sacramento and Kathleen Banks of Redding, California; his nephews, Nicholas Lapham and Roger Sossaman (Andrea); his friends, Brenda Hurlock and Tim McGinnis of North Manchester; his brother-in-law Jerry Thom (Nola) of Edgeley; and his stepchildren, Christopher Hoyt (Tiffanie) of California and Vanessa Rickert (Tony) of California.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 4th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the South Whitley Cemetery (7550 W State Rd 14, South Whitley, IN 46787).
