It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ellen Martin of Wakarusa, Indiana, born in Elkhart, Indiana, who passed away on June 24, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Martin and Catherine Martin (Martin); her son Wesley Martin; her grandchildren, Christine Martin, Ruthann Burkholder, Vernon Martin, Jason Martin and Paul Ray Martin; her great grandchildren, Daryl Martin and Levi Lynn Burkholder; and her siblings, Merle Martin and Ina Weaver.
She is survived by: her husband Ivan Martin of Wakarusa; her children, Steven Martin (Rosella) of Goshen, Merlyn Martin (Ella Mae) of Goshen, Duane Martin (Susan) of Hanover, MI, Levi Martin (Miriam) of Rochester, IN, Daniel Martin (Eunice) of New Paris, IN and Lorene Burkholder (Mervin) of Wakarusa; and her siblings, Naomi Martin (Elvin) of Nappanee and Ray Martin (Berneice) of Goshen. She is also survived by 33 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 26th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on Friday, June 27th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mervin and Lorene Burkholder Residence (26425 Co Rd 42, Wakarusa, IN 46573). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the Yellow Creek Old Order Mennonite Church.
